Diet information
I will not give out diet information. I am in no way licensed or in a position to tell you how you should eat. Your individual body will need its own requirements for nutrition, and I do not know what you need. If you have questions please consult with your physician about dieting changes, because some “healthy” diets that work for your best friend may have adverse effects on you. However if you want to learn about general nutrition, I can give some sources to read from.
Nutrition
Your body is like a generator. A generator that is given bad gas will not be efficient or run correctly. Your body is the same way, so things like fast food or highly process food does makes your body run inefficiently. Nutrition is the most important part of lifting and personal health. Your body is able to recover faster and perform better when properly fueled. Your body needs different things based on genetics, environment, and physical demand, and this is why I cannot give you any dieting/nutrition information. However, I can try to help you get resources to educate yourself on proper nutrition, so you can customize your nutrition needs.
NutritionBook
I recommend Wardlaw's Contemporary Nutrition: A Functional Approach. It is a modern look at nutrition, and it will help you understand your needs. It contains an overview of your body, and how it interacts with the food you eat. It is an academic book, and so it is more reliable than random forum posts/magazine diets. It will require some dedication to get through, but it can go a long way towards changing your life for the better. This book can be kind of expensive, however you can rent it for cheap if you need it.
I know of it because Joanna is using it for a nutrition class at Purdue.
