How the competition works

1. There will not be any body weight loss awards. Weight loss can be health, but that is not the main goal of this event. Intentionally trying to lose weight can lead to more harm to the body than good if done improperly. Working out and getting the correct nutrition will help you lose weight, while you focus on building muscle.

Fun Fact: Muscle tissue burns more calories than fat tissue, so the byproduct of weightlifting can increase metabolism with proper nutrition

2. There will be awards given to the top 3 for squat, bench, clean, dead-lift, and a 2-mile run. Each event will have its own award for best percentage improved. If you are unable to participate in any event, such as clean you can still win awards for other events. There will be one person who wins overall for all 4 lifting events combined, and one winner for the 2-mile run.

If you face some physical handicap, such as my port, that prevents you from doing certain lifts but would like to propose a more inclusive event: Please reach out to me through the forum.

If there are ties then the prize can be split between contestants, so the ribbon will be cut in half and mailed...... Not really, this kind of result is TBD

3. Formula for finding percentage increase

(Final Value - Starting Value) / |Starting Value| ] × 100

4. There will be a different division between women and men.

5. There will be divisions based on age. If there are suggestions for better age groups with a good reason this can be changed.

Groups(age)

15-30

30-50

50-70

70+

5. I cannot monitor your recorded results. This leaves it up to you to be honest. This is a competition about improving yourself not winning a ribbon. I ask that everyone please try your best and not sandbag your numbers. IE: putting lower starting weights. This is more about the charity and personal health than awards.
